Finding Forefathers Services

Genealogical Research to include: investigation of a genealogical question or problem of identity or kinship by 1) establishing the type, location, and availability of records that may contribute to solving the problem, 2) creating a research plan, 3) gathering documentation, 4) evaluating the information found in the records according to the Genealogical Proof Standard, 5) assembling the evidence and 6) preparing a detailed report. The report will include, at minimum, copies of all documents acquired, a complete bibliography of sources, a pedigree chart, and a family group sheet.

Probate Research to include: working with attorneys and courts to locate missing or unknown heirs and prove identity and kinship

Record Retrieval to include: locating and obtaining requested records, such as vital records (birth, marriage, death), U.S. Census records, church records, court records, military records, immigration records, naturalization records, Passport records, etc.

House Histories to include: 1) architectural facts about a house, such as date of construction, name of architect or builder, construction materials, and physical changes over time; and 2) historical facts, such as information on the original owner and other residents through time, or interesting events associated with the building or area. A house history may consist of either type of research, or be a combination of both.

Photography: to include tombstones, historic homes, or places of business.
